Vineyard and Agricultural Grazing
Vegetation management for vineyards, orchards, ranches, and other agricultural properties where site conditions are compatible.
Agricultural grazing is attractive for cover-crop management, floor vegetation, and perimeter fuel reduction — and it carries real risk to the crop if it is scheduled badly. We would rather decline a block than damage a vineyard.
Where it works well
Dormant-season grazing of cover crop and row middles, perimeter and roadway fuel reduction, and grazing of fallow or between-planting ground. Older vines with adequate trunk height and protection tolerate a controlled pass; young plantings generally do not.
What we assess first
Row spacing and equipment access, vine or tree age, irrigation type and exposure, and any chemical application or re-entry interval that affects when animals can be on the ground.
What this service does not do
Stated plainly so a scope can be written against it.
- Goats browse vines and young trees; grazing is normally limited to dormant windows or to blocks with adequate protection.
- Drip irrigation is vulnerable and must be assessed before the herd is placed.
Project suitability, pricing, grazing outcomes, timing, and regulatory requirements vary by property and agency. A site review is required before any proposal, schedule, or performance commitment is issued.
