About
Built for East Bay Wildfire Resilience
A practical regional problem, addressed with livestock, logistics, and documentation.
Why the company exists
Goats for Grazing was created to address a practical regional problem: public agencies and large landowners need scalable vegetation management, while conventional methods can be expensive, disruptive, difficult to deploy on steep terrain, or dependent on seasonal labor.
The company is being built to combine livestock, experienced herders, electric-fence systems, guardian dogs, field logistics, and project reporting into a professional grazing service for large properties and public-sector buyers. Field grazing work is delivered with experienced livestock and rangeland professionals.
What the operation is being built from
- Livestock
- A herd sized and managed for vegetation-reduction contracts, delivered through experienced livestock partners rather than kept for display.
- Experienced herders
- On-site rangeland professionals assigned to the herd for the duration of a deployment.
- Electric-fence systems
- Portable containment that defines every grazing cell and enforces every exclusion zone.
- Guardian dogs
- Predator protection for the herd, with public signage where sites carry access.
- Field logistics
- Trailers, water equipment, staging, signage, and support vehicles moved as one operation.
- Project reporting
- Documentation produced as a deliverable, not as an afterthought.
Founder
Chris Hudson

He leads company operations, customer relationships, contracting, technology, and project accountability. Field grazing work is delivered with experienced livestock and rangeland professionals.
We do not claim prior farming or grazing experience the founder has not had; operational rangeland and livestock expertise sits with the experienced professionals engaged for the field work.
